A Legacy That Started Long Before Us
Our family's story of feeding and caring for our community began generations ago. My great-great-grandfather, Hanz, was known as the "Sauerkraut King," growing fields of cabbage and hauling them by horse and wagon into Butte and Anaconda to sell to the miners. His dedication to hard work, quality, and serving others laid the foundation for the values we still live by today. Though our products have changed, our purpose hasn't—to create something honest, meaningful, and made with care for generations to come.

He showed me the value of hard work, integrity, and caring for the people around you. Those values continue to shape Montana Made Tallow every single day.
While he isn't here to see how far this dream has come, I carry a piece of him in everything we create.
